Our Story
We're college sweethearts and have been married over 10 years! We went to a small school so we knew each other through mutual friends and campus ministry events. At one point, Lauren started spending more and more time in the computer science lab (which was not normal for Religious Studies/Poli Sci majors!) so she could hang out with Adam and walk out with him. Soon Adam invited Lauren on a date to see an apocalypse movie staring Nicholas Cage, and two years later, we got engaged! We were married in January 2013 and just celebrated 10 years of marriage. In that time, Lauren finished grad school and got ordained as clergy, and Adam has gone to South America three times to explore (literally) lost roads in the jungle. We survived an apartment with bed bugs, pandemic quarantining, moving together 6 times, and all the joys and grief in between. We can't wait to start the adventure of parenthood together and to join with you in the unique bond that only adoption can bring.
Things We Like to Do Together
-
Try new restaurants - there's a big variety in our neighborhood
-
Go to local events - with the state capitol and downtown Saint Paul nearby, there are lots of cultural events.
-
Visit nearby towns - as proud Midwesterners, we love visiting towns within a few hours' drives to wander around
-
Church - we like visiting new churches when traveling, as well as attending our local church and potlucks
-
Visiting family and friends - we like to socialize and keep up with folks here in Minnesota, in Chicago area where Lauren is from, and in Wisconsin where Adam is from.
-
Going to movies--we have different tastes overall but we both love movies that don't take themselves too seriously
-
Taking our dog on walks--we try to go on one walk together everyday
-
The State Fair! Lauren's favorite food is the Swedish meatballs, and Adam loves the chocolate dipped nut rolls.
